Pre-Production to Post: The Visual Matters Workflow Explained
Transparency is part of our service. Here's exactly how we take a project from first conversation to final delivery.
One of the most common questions we get from new clients is: "What does the process actually look like?" It's a fair question. Production can feel like a black box — you hand over a brief and a budget, and something comes back weeks later. We believe in making the process as transparent as the outcome.
Step 1: Consultation
Every project starts with a one-on-one conversation. Not a pitch deck — a conversation. We want to understand your brand, your audience, your goals, and your constraints. What does success look like? What's the content for? Where will it live? Who needs to approve it? This conversation shapes everything that follows.
Step 2: Creative Direction
Based on the consultation, our creative team develops a direction: mood boards, reference films, treatment documents, and — for video — a script or shot list. This stage is collaborative. We present options, you give feedback, we refine. The goal is to lock the creative direction before any production resources are committed.
Step 3: Pre-Production
Once the creative is approved, we move into logistics: casting, location scouting, equipment planning, crew scheduling, and timeline mapping. For video projects, we'll produce detailed storyboards. For photography, we create shot lists with specific styling notes. This stage is where preparation meets precision.
Step 4: Production
Shoot day. Whether it's a single-day product shoot or a multi-day campaign, we run a tight, professional set. The client is always welcome on set and has real-time input. We shoot with post-production in mind — capturing everything we need for the edit, the social cutdowns, and the format variations.
Step 5: Post-Production
Editing, colour grading, sound design, motion graphics, and format delivery. We handle all of this in-house, which means faster turnaround and more consistent quality. Clients receive a first cut for review, typically within 3 to 5 business days. Revisions are included — we work until you're satisfied.
Step 6: Delivery
Final assets are delivered in all specified formats, optimised for their intended platforms. We include a completion guarantee — the project isn't done until you say it's done.
The Speed Factor
For urgent projects, this entire workflow can compress dramatically. We've delivered complete video projects in under a week when the brief is clear and the team is aligned. Speed doesn't require cutting corners — it requires eliminating unnecessary process.
